Leslie Carter, Sister of Nick and Aaron Carter, Passes Away
Leslie Carter, the younger sister of Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter and singer Aaron Carter, died Tuesday in upstate New York at the age of 25.
No details were provided on her reason behind death.
“Our family is grieving immediately and it is a non-public matter,” a family spokesperson said. “We are all deeply saddened for the loss of our beloved sister, daughter, and granddaughter, Leslie Carter. we request the utmost privacy throughout this difficult time.”
An autopsy yesterday morning by the Chautauqua County coroner’s workplace found “no visible signs of trauma,” coroner Richard Mackowiak told E! News. “We are awaiting a toxicology report to determine a reason behind death.” The body had been released to the family, he added. A toxicology report typically takes many weeks.
Leslie Carter was born in Tampa, Fla., one of 5 kids of Jane and Bob Carter. She began singing at age 5, and eventually took up piano, clarinet and guitar. DreamWorks Records signed her in 1999, however then shelved her debut album, “Like Wow!” that had been planned for an April 2001 release. The title track, however, appeared on the soundtrack of “Shrek” (2001) and reached No. 15 on the Billboard Hot a hundred. She released 2 extra singles.
She went on to perform on a club tour within the mid-2000s, and appeared in E!’s 2006 reality TV show “House of Carters.”
Carter married Mike Ashton in 2008 and moved to Toronto. the 2 have a 10-month-old daughter, Alyssa Jane.
She is survived by four siblings, husband of three years Mike, and a daughter, Alyssa Jane, 10 months. Our hearts exit to any or all of them. R.I.P. Leslie.
